Your gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda begins early in the morning at the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where you'll meet the park's expert rangers for a briefing. You'll set off into the dense, mist-covered forests of the Virunga Mountains, guided by skilled trackers who know the movements and behaviors of the gorilla families.The trek itself can vary in length and difficulty depending on the location of the gorillas. Along the way, the rangers share insights about the ecosystem and wildlife. Then, in a moment that's nothing short of magical, you'll come face-to-face with a family of endangered mountain gorillas-often including playful juveniles, watchful mothers, and a dominant silverback.
