Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest savannah park and the closest to Kampala. It is ideal for short safaris and offers game drives, walking safaris, boat cruises, and horseback safaris. Wildlife includes zebras, giraffes, impalas, and elands.

• Location: Nyabushozi County, Kiruhura District, Western Uganda. It is approximately 240 km (150 mi) west of Kampala (a 3.5 to 4-hour drive) and about 30 km (19 mi) east of Mbarara.
• Size: 370 km².
• Wildlife Highlights: The park is the only one in Uganda where you can find large populations of impalas and the only one in Western Uganda with Burchell's zebras and elands. Other common animals include buffalo, waterbuck, topi, warthog, hippos, and crocodiles. It is also home to over 350 species of birds, including the elusive African finfoot and papyrus gonolek.
• Unique Feature: It is the only national park in Uganda where guided walking safaris and horseback riding are possible, as there are no lions.
